GZA required a professional, technical design system that communicated authority and credibility in engineering and environmental consulting. The design process focused on structuring dense service content into digestible layouts while maintaining visual continuity through consistent iconography, color coding, and typographic rigor. The final identity positioned GZA as both cutting-edge and trustworthy, aligning the brand with industry-leading expertise.

For Harvard Business, the focus was on institutional clarity and brand cohesion across a broad catalog of programs and thought leadership content. The design system prioritized legibility, authority, and trustworthiness, using restrained typographic hierarchies and brand-standard palettes. A modular grid system supported scalability, while careful attention to visual rhythm and white space reinforced the intellectual rigor of the Harvard Business brand.

The Flour Bakery project required a balance of hospitality-driven warmth with a modern digital presence. The design approach combined human-centric photography, clean typography, and tactile color treatments to mirror the brand’s artisanal ethos. The UI architecture privileged storytelling through imagery and whitespace, ensuring that the digital experience aligned seamlessly with the welcoming, community-first identity of the physical bakery spaces.

The MIT AgeLab site redesign emphasized translating complex research into approachable, engaging narratives. The design methodology included clear content taxonomies, accessible visual hierarchies, and a palette informed by MIT’s institutional identity. Balancing academic credibility with approachable storytelling, the site used dynamic imagery and streamlined navigation to engage diverse audiences from scholars to policymakers, while maintaining compliance with accessibility standards.

Ahoy! Comics required a playful, narrative-driven design system that reflected the publisher’s irreverent voice and creative vision. The design process emphasized bold typography, vibrant palettes, and visual pacing inspired by comic book layouts. The result was a site and digital identity that celebrated storytelling while maintaining a cohesive brand system capable of adapting to diverse titles and campaigns.

Developed a comprehensive brand identity and digital platform for this national land developer. The work included logo design, typography, and color system development, along with a fully responsive website optimized for clarity, accessibility, and lead conversion. The unified design language strengthened Patten’s credibility and marketing presence across multiple regions.

Developed and hosted the official Hellboy.com website, serving as the digital home for the comic and film franchise. The project included creative direction, site architecture, and long-term hosting. Designed to deliver news, media, and promotional content while maintaining visual and thematic consistency across all promotional channels. Demonstrated the ability to merge bold visual branding with reliable digital infrastructure for a high-profile entertainment property.

Led the redesign of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s corporate website, modernizing the visual language and improving user experience for one of America’s most respected publishers. The project unified the presentation of HMH’s diverse publishing lines—The Lord of the Rings, Curious George, and other iconic titles—into a cohesive digital platform.
The scope included UX design, layout development, and content coordination with internal editorial and marketing teams. The refreshed website strengthened HMH’s online identity, improved content navigation, and extended the publisher’s literary heritage into a contemporary, dynamic web environment.

We revitalized Pavement Coffeehouse’s online presence by leading the redesign of its e-commerce platform and user experience. The project involved creating a modern, responsive site that aligned with the brand’s artisan coffee and café culture, while integrating subscription offerings, merchandising, and location discovery. By re-architecting navigation, optimizing imagery and content hierarchy, and coordinating print and digital brand collateral, the project elevated the company’s digital storefront and enhanced brand engagement across both retail and online channels.

Developed a custom infographic for SimpliSafe to visually communicate key product features and user benefits in a concise, accessible format. The project emphasized clarity and trust — core elements of SimpliSafe’s brand — through clean layout structure, iconography, and color hierarchy drawn from the company’s visual system.
